Hey Sunshine!!!

Chanel here, and I am a yoga instructor located in Jackson, GA. I bring yoga to those who never thought it was possible through a playful but safe yoga practice.

Most days, you can find me on my yoga mat trying not to trip over my sweet fur baby, my face buried in a good book, seeking new adventures to share with my baby girl, or on my search for the world's best spaghetti. Yep, HUGE spaghetti fan over here!

People often refer to me as the super optimistic and vivacious girl who loves to make people laugh.

My Yoga Story

I was not always a lover of yoga. My practice came about after experiencing a knee injury from years of running, track, and gymnastics. I was diagnosed with chondromalacia patella and was told that I would never be able to run again. I was completely devastated and found myself in a dark place with no escape or resources to help me through since my outlet was erased from my lifestyle. It was my physical therapist’s suggestion that I try yoga while recovering from my knee injury.

I always thought yoga was just stretching and, to be honest, judged the practice....boy was I wrong! All it took for me was one yoga video, and I haven’t looked back since. Yoga has changed my life in more ways than one. Yoga brought about a balance I lacked in my life. It helped me to connect back to myself and started to move me out of my dark place. When I was told I couldn't run, I had no clue what I was going to do. All my life, I ran both physically and mentally. I ran from my emotions, conflict, and anything uncomfortable. My yoga practice helped me to slow down, be present, and begin to feel things.

After a year of self-practice, I finally decided to attend my first in-person yoga class, which helped deepen my practice in a way I never imagined to be possible. It was at that very studio that I decided I wanted to bring yoga to people who would otherwise never experience it, like myself.

Less than a year later, I received my RYT-200 certification at 229 Yoga in Albany, GA. I began teaching a fun vinyasa (flow) style class. I currently teach online with Ompractice, as well as offer private and small group classes in-person and online.

When you come to my classes, expect to have fun, try new poses and movements, and see things from a different perspective while in a totally non-judgmental environment. You will build strength, flexibility, and balance (inside and out) while connecting the mind, body, and breath.

I can't wait to help you with preventative and self care; meeting you exactly where you are in your practice.💙
